Media things that I consumed (last weeks)

Trying a new thing.
Moving Pictures
Lost Girl: finally getting back on finishing season 3 and starting season 4, alone because kain_was_here TV-cheated and finished it all without me back in the spring. I'm bad at watching TV alone but I'm getting into it. Was glad to see an episode that was possibly the pinnacle of Lost Girl's glorious campy style: completely unexplained threesome Tango dance and George Takei as the guest star. Hoping that season 4 gets into some canon OT3 deliciousness.
The Imitation Game: I didn't have high hopes. I'd seen mixed reviews, and, well, Benedict Cumberbatch. Who has gone from "excited to see him cast" to "eyeroll at seeing him cast" in record short time. But it was a great movie for me. BC wasn't too Sherlock, much more genuinely socially awkward and less of an ass, and a lot of the story was about him having to learn to work with people and accept help to accomplish things. Which is something a lot of dudes in computers could still learn. Maybe I just like it because I'm from another underrepresented group in tech, but whatever, I like it. Programming was invented by a woman and the field of computer science was invented by a gay man.
The Bletchley Circle: watched the first season immediately after The Imitation Game and it is so beautiful and yet rage-making about these women's lives.
Legend of Korra: I think this was longer than a week ago but anyway I finally watched the finale and it was everything perfect and great except they could have actually kissed and I have read way too many articles on the Internet arguing about representation.
Criminal Minds: slowly rewatching s2 with the local statistically significant other (formerly known as work!Clint, but neither of us work there anymore so). The benefit of having watched these seasons twice before is that I can proactively skip the really bad episodes and focus on the good ones. Like "Profiler, Profiled." MORGAAAAAN.

And then two days later, Steve Rogers approached Sam again, knocked at Sam’s back door with Natasha Romanoff at his side and asked for Sam’s help. And since then… well, Sam’s – let’s just put it this way: no one would be surprised to hear Sam say that it wasn’t really how he’d imagined the last few weeks going is all. Signing on to help Captain America, getting back in the sky after all that time, standing at Steve’s side as Steve’s world started to crumble and collapse around him, and then helping Steve bring down SHIELD, saving the world like Sam Wilson was some kind of freakin’ superhero. And then, after all that, then nearly losing Steve just a few days after they first met.
"I've had to put up with a lot?" Sam repeated, crossed his arms over his chest, smiling. “Yeah, I guess that’s one way to describe the last week.”
