Travel travel travel!
Sep. 4th, 2011 04:38 pmLest my life sound horribly glamorous, I should preface this with saying that until K convinced me to go to San Francisco with him in the spring I hadn't flown anywhere for 2 years. So this is overdue travel accumulation.
San Francisco!
I'm going to SF for the Folsom Street Fair. I'll be getting in Friday afternoon and leaving Monday morning, and the fair itself is only on Sunday, so I'll be around if anyone wants to meet up. I'm totally open to having coffee with you even if we've never really interacted online.
Hawaii!
I've never been before. Going to Kauai for seven days in early October, planning on having the most slacker vacation ever. K's going for 2 weeks; I'm going with him, then his other girlfriend L arrives after 5 days, I leave after 7 days and the two of them stay another week together. Since he is the most considerate boyfriend ever, he made sure the condo we're renting has WiFi. I plan on spending as much time as possible sitting on the Lanai looking at the ocean and reading and/or writing fic.

bottledminx , then Chicago to see Chicago and also to dance, then hopefully St. Louis to dance some more if I can wrangle some unpaid time off from work. Exact times are still in flux but I'll probably be in Chicago October 27-28 and/or October 31-November 3. If St. Louis happens, it will be November 4-6 and I will probably have some free time between dance things to meet up.
The future!
I'd really like to go to the east coast. I've only been to NYC once and I spent the entire time swing dancing, and I haven't been to Boston since I was a little kid. I have a cousin in Maryland and a family friend in NYC to visit, but I suck at asking people for things so I want to wait until I can do this trip with my sister. She's awesome and she was an exchange student and knows people everywhere. She's also in school right now, but she should be graduating in June, so this might be a trip for next summer.
I also want to go to Europe, but I hate not speaking the local language. And I only speak English and Spanish. I guess that means I should go to Spain? I have godparents in France who are lovely to stay with, but again with the I-suck-at-asking-people thing so I might try to go with my mother. She's talking about going to France some time in the next year. And then of course I could seeanatsuno which would be \o/ . I also have friends who are doing a months-long bicycle trip through Europe starting in March, and I might try to see if I can make plans to hook up with them somewhere.

Warning: I will attempt to teach you to partner dance at the slightest provocation. Also, I am kind of shy and awkward in person.
