Date: 2020-05-04 07:49 am (UTC)1. Phryne Fisher is my queen and icon
2. Mainly Jack, which feels incredibly boring to say but it's really a standout among canon het. The eyefucking! The pairing of buttoned-up, stoic rule follower with charming chaotic disaster! I could also go in for Phryne/Mac and I've read every Phryne/Bert fic on the ao3 while I was looking for a specific one that may not have existed...
3. Her friendship with Dot 5ever :) also Mac. Also every other woman she has a relationship with.
4. I don't think I have any actual unpopular opinions except maybe some stuff about how the show nods to class issues and leftist politics with Cec and Bert but then still positions Phryne as the Good Rich Person? And also my opinion is that she should top the shit out of Jack which is also non unpopular but you wouldn't know that by how vanishingly little fic there is about it ;___;
5. Hmm, interesting one. I think I would like it if there were at least hints that she's not straight? And/or more of her relationship with Lin Chung. Like, threesome with Lin Chung and Camellia, that would be great.
6. This is hard because I haven't been in intense transformative fandom about Miss Fisher or thought about writing fic about her...
7. This is probably cheating or something but I always associate the show with The Mooche by Duke Ellington, probably because the closing theme has a similar sound. It's an instrumental song so I guess it doesn't really count in terms of relating to the character specifically. So I'm going to go with You Don't Own Me, a classic that I associate with Miss Fisher's refusal to be pinned down.
