Sorry for the late reply, had to think about this a little because out of the original series/AOS bridge crew Chekov and Scotty are the ones I haven't read or thought as much about.

- Least favorite thing about them Tendency for writers (official and fic) to use stereotypes around his nationality. And maybe that he gets to be a genius young person as a white boy when other characters don't...
